Member surveys with Febaso
Know what members want.
Before the general meeting.
A short conversation instead of a long survey. The board sees the themes, members hear what came of it.

In short
What is a member survey?
A member survey asks members what they think of the association: the services, the events, the membership fee, and what they would miss. It helps the board choose what the association invests in.
- Ask when there is something to decide
- Not just once every few years, but before a decision: a new service, the budget, the general meeting.
- Ask those who leave too
- A short conversation when someone cancels shows what members miss, while you can still do something about it.
How it works
From a question from the board to a decision.
01
Say what you want to know
In one sentence, for example before the general meeting. Febaso writes the questions, with a follow-up where the why matters.
02
Members answer in a conversation
On their phone or computer, whenever it suits them, in their own language.
03
The board decides, members hear it
Febaso lays out the themes, with quotes for the general meeting. Whoever raised something gets a message.
Try it yourself
A member survey, from start to finish.
Make an interview, take it as a member and see what happens to your answer. Two minutes, with made-up data.
Sound familiar?
A member survey that ends up in a drawer.

How do you experience your membership?
About 4 minutes · the association won't know who said what
Thank you for telling us how you experience your membership. Your answers help the board choose what we invest in next year.

“From where I live, a two-hour evening costs me a whole day.”
Needs a decision37 subscribedToday: Members who leave and never tell you why.
With Febaso: What members miss, while you can still act on it.

Events: regional evenings from January
From January there is a regional event every quarter in the north and in the south, and the evenings are available online afterwards. After the summer we'll ask whether you notice it.
Today: Members never hear what happened to their opinion.
With Febaso: An update to those who raised it, in their own language.

Questions about member surveys
How often should you run a member survey?
Short and more often rather than long and once every few years: before a decision, after an event, or when someone cancels. Ask the core questions every round, and you see per theme whether it grows or shrinks.
What questions do you ask in a member survey?
For example how likely someone is to recommend the association to a colleague in their field, what membership gives them, which services they use and what they would miss. Febaso asks a follow-up when an answer stays vague.
How do you keep the response up?
Keep it short, ask at a moment that matters, and show members what happened after the previous round. Whoever notices their opinion makes a difference takes part again next time.
Can we use the results for the general meeting?
Yes. You share the themes with the counts and the verbatim quotes in a report, without names. So the board backs a decision with what members said themselves.
Is it anonymous?
When you choose anonymous, names are never next to answers. Whoever wants to hear back leaves a contact detail that is stored separately from the answers. In a very small group an answer can be recognisable by its content; we look at that together when setting up.
Can we also ask members who leave why they go?
Yes. A short conversation when someone cancels works the same way as a member survey, and the themes show what members miss. So you hear it while you can still do something about it.
What does it cost?
Setting up your first interview is free. After that it depends on the number of members and languages: email us roughly how big your association is, and you'll hear back within one working day.
